Architecture and Design
The main building The
Visitor and Training Centre benefits from being located in the immediate vicinity of the JURA headquarters.
It is surrounded by space, separating it the adjoining developments. It is positioned on the site as
a beacon. The facade In order to achieve
the beacon effect a
second, uniform layer which extends along the entire surface, including over the windows, has been placed
in front of the external façade and is created in a lightweight design. This "curtain" is
only elevated at one point, opening up the main entrance in a kind of theatrical gesture. The suspended
façade is made from extended metal panels, the industrial character of which is in harmony with the
surrounding development. The interior The
internal space also has its own character,
with the bevelled wall surfaces designed as a solid construction. The apparent random nature of the
wall surfaces of the large entrance hall lead the visitors’ gaze precisely and lead it on from one function
area to the next. The entrances to the different rooms are recessed as spacious openings in the wall
surfaces, the differing designs of which draw the visitors into these areas.
